For thousands of years forms of massage have been used to heal and soothe and there are many different variations that are practised today.

Holistic Massage is the kneading of the body’s tissues – the skin, connective tissue, muscles – with varying degrees of pressure to promote a sense of wellbeing and healing in the receiver to help you live freely in your body. It is a person centred approach that brings together a range of techniques to provide an individual treatment to balance the mind, body and soul. The aim is to agree a goal orientated massage based around your physical symptoms, mental, emotional and spiritual being.

Massage has the power to relax, rejuvenate and encourage a process of recovery to help the body come back to a healthy neutral.
When applied in a therapeutic manner, massage can help loosen and heal muscles, ligaments and tendons and help to keep them healthy. Massage affects the nervous system by stimulating the release of endorphins and decreasing the levels of stress chemicals such as cortisol and adrenaline. Deeper pressure is aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia and can help to release chronic muscle tension and knots.
80-90% of the cases a massage therapist sees will be around stress, pain, tension or fatigue.....so when’s your next message?
